A consulting firm conducts a global consumer survey to help multinational companies understand different consumer attitudes throughout the world. In Country​ X, the researchers interviewed 1100 people aged​ 13-65. Their sample is designed so that they get 550 males and 550 females.

This is not a simple random sample because the likelihood of getting 550 males and 550 females by random chance is very unlikely. They would use stratified sampling process by sampling based on gender.
