Survey questions in communication research

You will each develop survey questions to appropriately measure each of the variables in your hypotheses.  These will all be put into one big online survey that I will create.  So, revisit your assignment submission and feedback for the previous assignment Variables and Hypotheses, and see if I rewrote any of your hypotheses or variables in my feedback to you.  If I did, you must proceed with the rewritten hypotheses/variables that I gave you (Email me at cdalelio@coastal.edu if you want to further discuss any changes I made).

You will need to write at least one survey question for each of the variables in your hypotheses. For some variables (i.e. gender), it may make sense to ask just one question.  For others (i.e. stress level), you may want to write a series of questions in order to accurately measure them.  All questions must be closed questions, and you must include the response options as well (even if they are just "Yes" and "No").  Remember to keep in mind what you have learned about writing good survey questions, and make sure the questions accurately measure the variable as stated.

Requirements:

When you have written the survey questions for each of your variables, submit the following for this assignment, in this order:

  1. Hypothesis 1 (H1)
  2. The independent variable (IV) in H1
  3. At least one question to put on our survey that will measure the IV in H1 (if it makes sense to write a series of questions to measure this variable, then do so), including appropriate response options
  4. The dependent variable (DV) in H1
  5. At least one question to put on our survey that will measure the DV in H1 (if it makes sense to write a series of questions to measure this variable, then do so), including appropriate response options
  6. Hypothesis 2 (H2)
  7. The IV in H2
  8. At least one question to put on our survey that will measure the IV in H2 (if it makes sense to write a series of questions to measure this variable, then do so), including appropriate response options
  9. The DV in H2
  10. At least one question to put on our survey that will measure the DV in H2 (if it makes sense to write a series of questions to measure this variable, then do so), including appropriate response options

This must be submitted here by 11:59 pm EST on Friday, November 11th.
