When educational leaders and policy makers talk about innovative teaching methods or the skills needed to be successful in the future, they often use the phrase 21st century skills. But what does this term really mean? We are 20 years into the 21st century, after all. What other century would educators be preparing their students for?
In this module's discussion, you are going to explore the concept of 21st century teaching, learning and literacy: Are they habits of mind? New or different instructional approaches? Technology tools for the classroom?
To begin, read and review the following 3 articles about 21st century learning.

As you read each article, look for how it defines and explains 21st century learning. Then post your own definition of 21st Century Learning. Your definition should include an overarching description of what 21st century learning is and an outline of concepts or areas that 21st century learning should address.
Your initial post is due by 11:59 PM on Thursday, September 1st.
Once you have made your initial post, you should read your classmates' posts. Reply to at least two of your classmates. Remember that the purpose of your reply is to add something to the conversation, not just agree or disagree. Be sure to add reasoning, explanations, or examples to support your ideas.
