Find p-value using a simulation. A study published in the science research journal Nature in 2003 investigated whether observed couples turned their heads to the right or to the left when kissing. They observed 124 couples at the park and indicated which way they turned their heads when they kissed. The hypothesis test for this experiment is set up below.
Ho: The couples do not show a preference for which direction they turn their heads when they kiss
Ha: The couples do show a preference to the right for the direction they turn their heads when they kiss
Assume you did a similar experiment to the researchers in the published Nature Journal. You observe 70 couples turn their heads to the right when they kissed. Do these results provide evidence that couples show a preference for the direction they turn their heads when they kiss?
To find the p-value of observing 70 couples or more you run a simulation of observing 124 couples 100 times. The number of couples who turn their heads to the right when kissing is recorded and a dot plot is created. Using this dot plot find the p-value of observing 70 couples who turn their heads to the right when kissing.
